The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is the public affairs arm of the Jewish Federation.  Its mission is to represent the Jewish community's interests and concerns to public officials and agencies, the media and the community at large.  It promotes tikkun olam, the repair of the world, through advocacy and action. For more information on how to get involved, call 203- 387-2424 x318 or email JCRC Director Rabbi Joshua Ratner at

Activities of the JCRC
n Provide volunteer reading partners for youngsters at public schools in
     New Haven through the Jewish Coalition for Literacy. Click here to volunteer
n Work with public officials on legislation and policy that affects the
     Jewish community

n Promote interfaith understanding through programs and dialogue

n Raise awareness and mobilize action on poverty and human rights 
     issues through local coalitions and partnerships
n Build consensus within the Jewish community on pressing policy issues  
     through education and advocacy

n Educate and advocate for Israel

n Work with the Israel Action Network
